Description

The 5 Layer Beef Burrito is a delicious, homemade version of a fast-food favorite! Packed with seasoned beef, creamy nacho cheese, refried beans, sour cream, and shredded cheese, this burrito is flavorful, filling, and easy to make. Perfect for meal prep, a quick dinner, or an on-the-go meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup water
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Cook the Beef – In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease, then stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
Warm the Beans and Cheese – Heat the refried beans and nacho cheese sauce separately until warm.
Assemble the Burritos – Lay out a tortilla. Spread a layer of refried beans, followed by nacho cheese sauce. Add a scoop of seasoned beef, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese.
Fold and Wrap – Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it tightly from the bottom up to form a burrito.
Serve & Enjoy – Eat immediately or warm in a skillet for a crispier texture.

Notes

  • Spicy Option – Add diced jalapeños, hot sauce, or use spicy taco seasoning.
  • Loaded Burrito – Add guacamole, pico de gallo, or shredded lettuce.
  • Breakfast Version – Swap beef for scrambled eggs and add crispy bacon.
  • Grilled Style – Toast the burrito in a pan for a crispy, golden-brown exterior.
  • Storage – Wrap leftovers in foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating – Microwave for 1-2 minutes or warm in a skillet for a crispier texture.
  • Freezing – Wrap burritos tightly in foil and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight before reheating.
