Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
- 2 cups cooked egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the Beef Mixture – In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until softened. Drain excess fat.
- Make the Sauce – Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Pasta Mixture – In a bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles, sour cream, and melted butter. Mix until evenly coated.
- Assemble the Casserole – Spread the pasta mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Layer the beef and tomato sauce mixture over the pasta. Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake – Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish & Serve – Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with sliced green onions and enjoy!
