Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (10 oz) angel food cake or pound cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups blueberry pie filling (or fresh blueberries mixed with ¼ cup sugar)
  • Fresh blueberries for garnish (optional)
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

1. Make the Cheesecake Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

2. Whip the Cream

  • In a separate bowl, beat heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined and fluffy.

3. Assemble the Trifle

  • In a large trifle dish (or individual serving glasses), layer as follows:
    • Start with a layer of cake cubes.
    • Add a layer of the cheesecake mixture.
    • Spread a layer of blueberry pie filling.
    • Repeat layers until the dish is filled, finishing with the cheesecake mixture on top.

4. Garnish & Chill

  • Top with fresh blueberries and a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Berry Medley: Mix strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries for a colorful trifle.
  • Lemon Twist: Add lemon zest to the cheesecake mixture for a citrusy touch.
  • Chocolate Drizzle: Add a layer of melted chocolate between the layers for a decadent twist.
  • Gluten-Free: Use a gluten-free cake to make this dessert gluten-free.
  • Nutty Flavor: Add chopped almonds or pecans between layers for crunch.
