Description

This Easy Cheesy Quick Bread is the ultimate savory treat! Soft, cheesy, and full of flavor, this bread is the perfect side for soups, salads, or just as a snack. Quick to make and with minimal ingredients, it comes together in under an hour—no kneading required. A comforting, cheesy loaf that everyone will love!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×4 or 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder (if using).

  • Add Cheese:
Stir in 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese of your choice) into the dry ingredients, ensuring the cheese is evenly distributed.

  • Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of melted butter, and 1 large egg until fully combined.

  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined—be careful not to overmix as this can result in a dense loaf.

  • Pour Into Loaf Pan:
Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.

  • Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

  • Cool and Serve:
Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

  • Optional Garnish:
For added flavor and color, sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Cheese Varieties: Experiment with mozzarella, gouda, or parmesan for different flavors. Mixing different cheeses is also a great way to add depth.
Herb Add-ins: Add fresh or dried herbs like rosemary, thyme, or oregano for extra flavor.
Spicy Kick: For some heat, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
Bacon or Ham: Add cooked bacon bits or diced ham to make it heartier.
Cheese Topping: Sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking for a cheesier crust.
