  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

For the Slurry:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk

For the Vegetables:

  • 2 cups frozen peas and carrots

For the Dumplings:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp softened butter
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  • Prepare Dumpling Dough: In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, butter, milk, and water until just combined.
  • Add Dumplings: Drop spoonfuls of dough into the boiling broth, gently pressing them down.
  • Cook Dumplings: Cover and cook on high heat for 30 minutes, or until dumplings are fully cooked and fluffy.
  • Serve: Ladle into bowls and enjoy hot!

Notes

  • Vegetable Additions: Try celery, onions, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Make it Creamier: Substitute half the milk with heavy cream.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
