Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil or parsley (for garnish)
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Transfer chicken to a baking dish.
- Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
