Ingredients
- 8 oz. bowtie pasta (farfalle)
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside. - Brown the Beef:
In a large skillet, heat over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula (about 5-7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed. - Sauté Aromatics:
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant. - Make the Sauce:
Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly, about 2-3 minutes. - Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and mix to coat evenly in the sauce. Stir in shredded cheese until fully melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. - Serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. Enjoy!
Notes
- Customizable: Swap the ground beef with ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternatives.
- Vegetables: Add spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers for extra flavor and nutrition.
- Cheese Variations: Experiment with Parmesan, Gruyère, or Monterey Jack for a unique flavor profile.
- Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Reheat with a splash of broth or cream to loosen the sauce.
