Ingredients
- 10–12 chicken wings (drummettes or wingettes)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp baking powder (not baking soda)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Optional: Your favorite wing sauce (Buffalo, BBQ, Teriyaki)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven – Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a wire rack for even cooking.
- Prepare the Wings – Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they are as dry as possible for extra crispiness.
- Season the Wings – In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Arrange the Wings – Place the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack. Using a wire rack allows air to circulate, helping them cook evenly.
- Bake the Wings – Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispiness on both sides.
- Toss in Sauce (Optional) – If desired, toss the wings in your favorite sauce (Buffalo, BBQ, etc.) after baking.
- Serve – Let the wings cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce!
Notes
- Spicy Version: Add cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the seasoning mix for a kick of heat.
- Garlic Parmesan Wings: Toss the wings in melted butter and garlic after baking, then sprinkle with grated parmesan.
- Asian-Inspired: Coat the wings with soy sauce, honey, and garlic for a sweet and savory flavor.
- Lemon Pepper Wings: Season with lemon zest and pepper for a zesty, fresh flavor.
