- 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for cooking)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the ginger soy glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, honey (or brown sugar), rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch (if using). Set aside.
- Cook the cod: Season cod fillets with salt and pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add cod and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and flaky.
- Add the glaze: Reduce heat to low and pour the ginger soy glaze over the cooked cod. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the fish evenly.

Notes

You can substitute cod with haddock, halibut, or tilapia.
- The glaze can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- For extra heat, stir in red pepper flakes or sriracha to the glaze.
