- 2 tbsp cornstarch (divided)

- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp ground allspice
- 1 bay leaf
Instructions
- Coat the beef stew meat with half of the cornstarch.
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add beef and sear for 2 minutes per side.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Deglaze the pot with beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add red potatoes, pearl onions, carrots, celery, and tomato paste.
- Season with salt, sugar, parsley, paprika, oregano, basil, black pepper, and allspice. Add the bay leaf.
- Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 90 minutes.
- Mix remaining cornstarch with water to form a slurry. Stir into the stew and cook until thickened.
