Description

These Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches are packed with bold flavors, making them the ultimate comfort food with a kick. Tender, crispy chicken coated in spicy buffalo sauce, paired with a creamy dressing and served on a toasted bun — the perfect balance of heat and savory goodness. Perfect for game day, weeknight dinners, or any time you’re craving something spicy and satisfying!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for toasting buns)
  • Lettuce leaves (optional, for topping)
  • Blue cheese or ranch dressing (for drizzling)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, then dredge it in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the chicken is baking, heat the buffalo sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, or microwave it until warmed.
  6. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and toss each piece in the warm buffalo sauce until fully coated.
  7. Butter the hamburger buns and toast them lightly on a skillet or in the oven until golden brown.
  8. To assemble the sandwiches, place the buffalo chicken on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with lettuce, a drizzle of blue cheese or ranch dressing, and the top bun.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover chicken breasts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freezing: Freeze the cooked chicken breasts individually in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes to restore crispiness.
  • Reheating: To reheat the entire sandwich, wrap it in foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes. For individual chicken pieces, reheat in the oven or in a skillet to maintain the coating’s crispiness.
