Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buffalo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 tablespoon butter (for toasting buns)
- Lettuce leaves (optional, for topping)
- Blue cheese or ranch dressing (for drizzling)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, then dredge it in the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
- Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown.
- While the chicken is baking, heat the buffalo sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, or microwave it until warmed.
- Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and toss each piece in the warm buffalo sauce until fully coated.
- Butter the hamburger buns and toast them lightly on a skillet or in the oven until golden brown.
- To assemble the sandwiches, place the buffalo chicken on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with lettuce, a drizzle of blue cheese or ranch dressing, and the top bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Storage: Store leftover chicken breasts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Freezing: Freeze the cooked chicken breasts individually in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes to restore crispiness.
- Reheating: To reheat the entire sandwich, wrap it in foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes. For individual chicken pieces, reheat in the oven or in a skillet to maintain the coating’s crispiness.
