Description

Sticky Beef Noodles are a savory, sweet, and tangy dish made with tender beef, noodles, and a rich sticky sauce. This Asian-inspired recipe is quick and easy, making it perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep. With a flavorful combination of soy sauce, hoisin, and honey, each bite of these sticky noodles is packed with irresistible flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 8 oz egg noodles (or your favorite noodles)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water.
  2. While the noodles cook, heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced beef to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the beef and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and ginger, cooking for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet along with the cooked noodles. Pour the sauce over the beef and noodles, tossing everything together until well-coated and the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Add the reserved pasta water if needed to help coat the noodles.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, replace beef with tofu or tempeh. Pan-fry the tofu before adding to the noodles.
  • Add vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or bok choy for added crunch and color.
  • For extra spice, increase red pepper flakes or drizzle sriracha sauce over the dish.
  • Swap egg noodles for rice noodles, soba noodles, or zucchini noodles for different textures.
